Stretching

Did you know that stretching can improve your health?  Go ahead…take a deep breath and stretch. Feels amazing doesn’t it? 

Stretching is such an important component in keeping your body in balance. When you work out, your constantly contracting your muscles. Stretching at the end of your work out pulls your muscles in the opposite direction and not only feels great but also sets your muscles up for optimal repair after being worked.

OK. So maybe you don’t work out all the time or any…. Stretching is still great for you but remember muscles stretch better when they are warm and have been worked. Stretching improves circulation and range of motion. It increases mobility in muscles, joints and tendons.

Stretching also reduces muscle tension and fatigue plus increases relaxation. Not to mention improves posture, helps prevent injuries and muscle strains and just plain feels great. How’s that for a laundry list of benefits? 

You can find many different stretching techniques from your doctor or on line. So go ahead…get out of your chair and stretch. In no time at all, you’ll notice a big difference in how you feel.
