Did you know genetically modified foods can be bad for your health? 

GMOs or genetically modified organisms are plants or animals created through the gene splicing techniques of biotechnology (also called genetic engineering). This experimental technology creates unstable combinations of plant and animal genes that cannot occur in nature.

Some serious health risks from consuming genetically modified foods include infertility, accelerated aging, organ damage, and cancer. Concern over the use GMOs in our food supply has lead to an increased interest in organics.

If they’re not labeled organic or verified non-GMO, avoid products made with ingredients that might be derived from GMOs. The nine genetically modified food crops are corn, soybeans, canola, cottonseed, sugar, alfalfa, papaya, AND some zucchini and yellow squash. As consumers, we can protect the future of our food by avoiding products made with GMOs.
