Did you know that only 30% of the diseases we acquire in our lifetime are actually written in the code of our genes? 

That means we can’t blame it all on the family tree. 70% of disease is due to our choices. Are we eating right and getting enough exercise?  What are the factors in our environment?  Are we drinking clean water?  What’s in the air we breathe? 

Other factors include our emotional health. Are we plugged in spiritually?  Is our marriage and family unit strong?  How much stress are we carrying? 

All of these things can contribute to our overall well being. Studies show that diet and exercise along with a strong sense of community and close family ties, can lead to better health. When things are out of balance, it can take a toll on us.

The Bible says our body is the temple of the Lord. How are you treating your temple?  So go ahead, get out and get some exercise, make wise choices at the grocery store, get the rest you need and spend quiet time in prayer.

“Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.” - Proverbs 3: 7-8
