Unfortunately, cooking and processing can destroy the enzyme levels – the older we get, the lower our levels.

But supplemental enzymes can help. One study found that subjects who took an enzyme supplement after a high-calorie, high-fat meal had significantly less gas, bloating, and feelings of fullness.
