Detox for Kids

Did you know your kids may need a detox from chemicals? 

You may think since kids are young they haven’t had time to accumulate toxins or harm their health with bad habits. However, recent reports have shown kids are being affected by all sorts of chemicals that can come from cleaning products, fabric softener, flame retardant products and even the type of pillows they use.

The list of toxicity symptoms varies but may include constipation, profuse sweating, headaches, rashes, bleeding gums, difficulty breathing or concentrating, heart palpitations and sensitivity to sugar. A basic approach to detox, which works well for kids and adults, is combining a mild laxative such as aloe, prune juice or fennel seeds with a bulking agent such as psyllium fiber for short term use or flax seeds for a long term solution.

It’s also recommended to clean the liver by taking Milk Thistle. Be sure your kids drink lots of water and stay away from soda, especially diet soda, which is full of liquid chemicals. Also be sure your kids are moving and exercising so they break a light sweat.

Finally avoid three big bad foods; refined flours, corn syrup and hydrogenated oils.
